I found a great article with some good information at weddingsolutions.com.

Things To Consider: Make sure you hire a photographer who specializes in weddings. Your photographer should be experienced in wedding procedures and familiar with your ceremony and reception sites. This will allow him/her to anticipate your next move and be in the proper place at the right time to capture all the special moments. Personal rapport is extremely important. The photographer may be an expert, but if you don’t feel comfortable or at ease with him or her, your photography will reflect this. Comfort and compatibility with your photographer can make or break your wedding day and your photographs!

HOW TRUE. As a photographer, I can’t put a factor on the importance of being relaxed.  It’s certainly true that when either the photographer or the person being photographed is under stress, it shows up in the photos. Often times, with all the stress of that big day, relaxing is the last thing on the mind.  Technical skill and creativity play equal parts of the finished photographs along with my ability to connect to the people I’m photographing.  It always helps to slow down and connect.  The art of taking beautiful photographs requires a little light and a little time.  If your photographer is “on-top”, you can follow his or her relaxing pace, enjoy your wedding, and have great photographs to enjoy for a lifetime.

It’s going to look great when I start adding some of my photos. I’ve got a fresh batch to edit and get post so stay tuned.

Speaking of color schemes … I want to thank Jeff Malek for taking the time to write the wonderful Theme “Dark.Cash”. I only had to make a few modifications in order to use it here on my site. It helps to have a background in computers and web development!

For anyone wanting to start their own blog, there are several sites out there that will let you do it. I’m just now scratching the surface. There are so many things you can do if you are really interested in expressing yourself. They are also handy for communicating with you others whether they are family members, old work friends, clients and potential customers. Since I am handling all my own web services, I’m using the Open-Source version of software called WordPress. They also have a great big server at www.wordpress.com that you can create an account there, and have your own BLOG up and running within minutes.

Where will it be? Who all is going to be there? Who is this guy you’re going to be marrying? I’m sure you’ve heard it all and then some. I stumbled onto a website that helps to answer all those questions. It allows you to create your very own website, dedicated to your wedding! You don’t have to be a web developer, hire one, or spend a lot of money. There are a couple of different templates that let you choose your style and you’ve got your own website.

I normally don’t promote a lot of other sites, but you can’t beat free. There are two options, one costs about a hundred bucks but the other is free for a year. You get to input all the information about your fiancee and where you met and all kinds of things. You can even do Question and Answer polls for your family and friends and you can upload those engagement photos you got taken (HINT HINT)
Then after the wedding, you can upload all your wedding photos to show all your family and friends!

Create your own Wedding Website at http://weddingsolutions.com

Check it out for yourself! It’ll be a lot of fun for you I’m sure. Even if you don’t want to waste time with creating your own website, you should at least visit. Unless you’re a professional wedding planner, and if you have a wedding in your future, you’ll find the site to be informative and helpful. If you don’t then I’ll be sure to give you a refund for going!

Have fun!

Welcome to our little part of the world !  This is our first post, on November 28th, 2006.  We’re just coming back from our Thanksgiving feast with friends and family in Central Missouri.  I’ll post some of the photos I took a little later, I’m enjoying several of them so far.

I’ll be posting various tidbits here that should help you get to know me/us and will help you make your decisions about using a photographer easier.

Look for us frequently.
