It’s very important to calibrate your monitor when viewing proofs online, or viewing digital images from your computer screen.  If the color or contrast isn’t adjusted properly, the printed images will look a lot different.

 Here is an 11 color scale for adjusting contrast.

Its my favorite subject! I just love photographing babies because they are just so wonderful. If you watch closely, I think you can actually watch them grow and learn before your very eyes. But it’s more like the minute hand of a clock. Its hard to see the movement while you’re looking at it, but look away for a few seconds and it’s apparent it moved.

Photographing babies is a special time when I get to see and capture this new life growing.

Well I recently updated this blogging software to Wordpress 2.3. They worked out some bugs and added some new features and I like to stay current so here it is.

One of the noticeable differences is an “Addthis” drop down at the bottom of each post.  It’s there so you can conveniently add any of the articles to your favorite bookmark pages.  I like using these bookmark services, because no matter what computer I happen to be logged into, I can still access my favorites.  Other people can see my favorites too, by searching for burcjo on del.icio.us or http://delicious.com . Another thing, by adding my articles to your favorites lists, will let the world know that I’m doing something worth doing.

Aside from that, you shouldn’t notice many other changes, but if you run into problems, don’t hesitate to let me know.

Yesterday, Sunday October 14th, Oklahoma City saw what was supposedly the largest parade in Oklahoma in Oklahoma’s history, and I was on hand to witness and photograph the historical event. There were literally thousands of

I’ve recently joined a group of guys that have breakfast every Thursday morning who share ideas, leads and business tips with each other.

http://www.okctips.com The group is for men only, but is going through a real transition period full of growth and changes. I’m still discovering the potential power of networking and this seems to be quite exciting. The group only allows one person to represent each business or trade, and each member votes on each new applicant. The members all have diverse backgrounds and I’ve met some really interesting guys in the short time I’ve been having breakfast with them. Its been a great time.

A quiet retreat for partaking of great food, great friends and, if I’m lucky, a few good photo opportunities.

Members of the Metro Professional Photographers Association are going to gather up this Sunday morning at 9:00 AM to take a trip through the Oklahoma City Zoo and share tips and ideas on how to get the best shots of our favorite animals. I’ve been really lax in posting and I’m really sorry.  I’m sure everyone reading has been wondering if I’m still doing business!  I’ve just been really busy juggling everything in my schedule.  Between my full-time job at the state, different photographer opportunities, working with my good friend John McDonald, a website designer, and my wonderful family, I’ve managed to stay quite busy.  John and I have been working on some really great ideas and we’ve decided to start even one more project!  We’re going to combine our talents, Website Design, and Photography.  It’s a promising opportunity and that’s all I can say about it right now, it’s our “secret project”.  I’ll definitely keep you posted as more is revealed.

So, a pilot “secret project”, several portraits, countless diapers and a couple of date-nights with my wife since my last post, I’m here to tell you I’m very much here! And I’m very grateful for the opportunity to spend time with each of you.  Thank You for the wonderful experiences!  Weddings and portraits are such a great time to get to know people, study them, discover their hidden talents and unique traits.  I love this part of my work.
